Nalgonda: The TRS MLA Vemula Veeresham on Sunday staged a dharna in front of Nalgonda DSP office alleging the inaction of the police in arresting the accused in the incidents of attacks on TRS workers.

Tension prevailed for a while when Nakrekal MLA along with his 100 followers resorted to flash dharna in front of DSP office, which is near the District Police headquarter. High drama continued at the DSP office till 9.30 PM.

Based on the inputs of the intelligence sleuths that the TRS is planning to stage a dharna in front of the DSP office, huge number of the policemen were deployed at the DSP office. The police has closed the gates of the DSP office and allowed the MLA and few leaders to meet the DSP.

The TRS MLA picked up the argument with the Nalgonda DSP Ramulu Naik over closing the gates of the office. The MLA remained unrelenting even though the DSP tried to convince him by saying communication gap has led to the incident. Later, the TRS MLA came out from the DSP office and staged a dharna in front of the office.
The TRS MLA said that 29 cases including attempt to murder case are still not cracked down by the police in his constituency. Moreover, at the behest of the DSP, the police were harassing the TRS workers, he alleged.
