MLC questions veracity of Eatala’s budget figures
Questioning the accuracy of the budget figures provided by the TS Finance Minister Eatala Rajender for the financial year 2015-16, as Budget Estimates (BE) as well as the Revised Estimates (RE) are exactly the same, Prof K Nageshwar said RE figures can never be exactly similar to those of the BE in a particular year and this was nothing but misleading the entire Legislature.

Participating in the discussion on budget in the Council, Prof Nageshwar said people would lose confidence in the government if it failed to revise and correct the anomaly. It even amounted to violation of Privilege, he said. Prof Nageshwar said when a nurse, teacher, doctor and constable needed training, why there should not be training for MLAs and MLCs who are involved in major process of decision-making that effects entire society. He demanded that the government establish Legislative Knowledge Network, which would provide information and professional expertise to public representatives. This, he said, could be constituted with negligible funds.
