House damaged in cylinder explosion

Vikarabad (Ranga Reddy): The roof of a house was ripped apart when a cooking gas cylinder exploded at Pulusumamidi village in Vikarabad mandal on Wednesday. Houseowner Rukkiah’s son Yadaiah fixed a regulator to the gas cylinder on Tuesday. Yadaiah’s mother Anantamma cooked food on Tuesday night. However, when Anantamma lit stove to cook rice on Wednesday morning, she noticed flames erupting from the regulator also. She immediately informed her son. Yadaiah poured water on the regulator to control flames. But, flames continued to erupt. Cylinder exploded when he was climbing on to the roof to remove stones of the slab. However, no loss of life was reported.
