The accident that took at the Gas Authority of India Limited facility pipeline at Suryapet area of Telangana's Nalgonda district on Saturday killing two and injuring two others was investigated and the reason behind the mishap was found to be negligence.

The incident occurred when GAIL engineers were doing routine pipeline check at around 12 noon and started shifting the machine after an assurance that gas supply had been stopped. But the gas which remained in the pipeline gushed out under pressure and blew the two workers Roshan Tijare (manager) and V. Ramesh (technician) away killing them instantly. The negligence was caused due to the gas pressure in the pipelines not being checked which led to the mishap.

The other three injured employees alakrishna (manager) Narsimha (technician) and G. Venkat (technician) were shifted to Metro Hospitals in Suryapet and later to Hyderabad. Earlier in June last year, 15 people were killed and 12 others were injured after a GAIL pipeline exploded following a gas leak.
