The bench granted the government one month’s time to make the appointments. Murali Mohan Reddy and 4 other Fast Track Court Judges challenged the non-regularisation of their services on par with other FTC Judges.

Hyderabad: A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar on Monday directed the Telangana government authorities to appoint certain Fast Track Court Judges. The bench granted the government one month’s time to make the appointments. Murali Mohan Reddy and 4 other Fast Track Court Judges challenged the non-regularisation of their services on par with other FTC Judges. Dr K Lakshmi Narasimha, counsel for the petitioners successfully contended that these FTC Judges were not selected on the ground that they have not secured the minimum qualifying marks in the interviews. He further pleaded that there was no such prescription initially and changing rules midway was illegal. “Thus it will appear neither in the advertisement nor in the rules, there is any such stipulation for securing minimum qualifying marks in viva voce test in order to secure aggregate qualifying marks. Even in the rules, there is no mention about minimum aggregate qualifying marks,” speaking for the bench, the Chief Justice said.
