He proposed to improve the health facilities in Osmania, Gandhi and Niloufer hospitals by making them as 2000-bed hospitals. Further, he directed officials to construct twin towers of 24 floors each near Osmania General Hospital.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has proposed a slew of measures for overhauling the medical sector in Telangana to make it more effective. He proposed to improve the health facilities in Osmania, Gandhi and Niloufer hospitals by making them as 2000-bed hospitals. Further, he directed officials to construct twin towers of 24 floors each near Osmania General Hospital.

KCR held a 7-hour marathon review meeting on health sector at Secretariat on Wednesday. He proposed Area Hospital in every Assembly constituency. He directed officials to transform Primary Health Centres (PHCs) to 30-bed hospitals, Area Hospitals into 100-bed hospitals and District Hospitals to 1000-bed super-specialty hospitals. He opined that 104 and 108 services should be brought under the government umbrella. The Chief Minister directed officials to provide patients’ attenders with dormitories, bathrooms and other facilities.
