KTR to launch Hyd WIFI today
T and Panchayat Raj Minister K Tarakarama Rao will launch Hyderabad WIFI – the flagship project of the Telangana government here on Thursday evening. The minister will conduct a Facetime call on the WIFI network with Union Minister for IT & Telecom Ravi Shankar Prasad from the launch site. In the first phase, six corporations & 37 municipalities
Hyderabad: IT and Panchayat Raj Minister K Tarakarama Rao will launch Hyderabad WIFI – the flagship project of the Telangana government here on Thursday evening. The minister will conduct a Facetime call on the WIFI network with Union Minister for IT & Telecom Ravi Shankar Prasad from the launch site. In the first phase, six corporations & 37 municipalities have been selected for the 4G service along with Hyderabad city.
The Wi Fi services will be provided by BSNL and Quad Gen solutions. The services will be available in areas around Tankbund, Lumbini Park and Necklace Road. About 1800 to 2500 people will be able to avail the facility at a time in a radius of 10 kms from these areas. They will be able to utilise the services free for 30 minutes. The speed of Wi Fi would be between 2 MBPS to 20 MBPS. Commissioners of GHMC, HMDA and BSNL CMD will be present at the WIFI launch on Thursday.
