Karimnagar: Two girls drowned in the river Godavari near Dharmapuri temple on Thursday afternoon. According to police, Katla Sravani,15, and her sister Radhika,13, drowned when they ventured into the river to play. The sisters went to Dharmapur along with their family members on a pilgrimage.
They hailed from Kothapally village in Karimnagar district.The police said a total of six members went to have a holy dip in Godavari river at around 3 pm. Sravani, Radhika and their sister-in-law Manisha ventured into the river. The mother of the ill-fated sisters was able to rescue Manisha.
