Panel formed to cleanse HMDA of graft
In an effort to cleansing the HMDA ( Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority ) riddled with rampant corruption since its inception , Telangana State government on Wednesday constituted a three-member official committee to streamline the Authority . The committee was consisting of Principal Secretary to state Municipal Administration and Urban Development MG Gopal , HMDA Commissioner Shalini Mishra and another senior official Pradeep Chandra.

Reviewing the functioning of the HMDA on the third consecutive day at the Secretariat, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao took serious note of the flooding complaints against the officials from the people. He wanted complete transparency in HMDA and ensure zero graft in discharging duties by the authority. He directed officials adopt e-governance in the administration and civic services.
Instructing the head of the HMDA to repatriate all the 80 officials working in the authority on deputation immediately, the Chief minister said the decision taken by the urban body in the last four months should also be kept in abeyance until the committee. KCR felt in the meeting that the master plan prepared by the HMDA was also not helpful to the development of the city.
