Hyderabad: Telangana Electricity Outsourcing Employees, on Wednesday, called off their 17-day strike, after power utilities agreed to address the demands put forth by the employees JAC. TSSPDCL (Southern Power Distribution Company Limited) Chairman and Managing Director G Raghuma Reddy, who held talks with the JAC representatives, said that the power utilities accepted the main demand to pay wages to the outsourced employees through treasuries and also ready to pay special allowance of 12% on minimum basic wage per month with, effect from May 1.

As demanded by the outsourcing employees, the agency or contractor would monitor the works of outsourced personnel and maintain all records and also comply with the statutory provision of relevant labour laws, the official said payment of ex-gratia would be enhanced from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh in the event of fatal accident to the outsourced personnel.
