With the Telangana SSC results released on Sunday, the Pass percentage of the SSC exams fell by approximately 8 percent compared to the previous year. Even government schools did not fare well with a pass percentage of only 63 in the exams held in March. However, the 82 percent of students studying in private schools cleared the exams.


Admitting the results were poor comparatively to the previous year, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari on Sunday said that the students were made to apply their knowledge with the government eliminating rote learning possibility which is satisfactory in terms of the results.


From a total of 5.13 lakh students who appeared for the exams, about 1,387 scored a 10 GPA and 158 were from the Sri Chaitanya Schools making it the institution with the highest tally. Over 448 students from Sri Chaitanya schools scored 9.8 GPA and 1297 scored above 9.5.


The pass percentage for the 10 districts of Telangana last year was 85 which has decreased to 77.56 percent showing a decline of 8 percent.
