Warangal: The competition is getting hotter between the defectors from Congress and TDP versus native leaders in the district TRS party, aspiring for the MLC seats from Assembly constituency. Since the release of the schedule for elections to the Legislative Council to fill six seats from Assembly constituency, intense political activity has been taking place in the TRS.

The TRS was said to have a chance of winning four seats in view of its 75 MLAs. But the number of aspirants from the district is more. Besides, the higher number of aspirants, the party leadership is facing a challenge in balancing the equation in terms of choosing the party leaders who were long associated with the party and those joined it recently from Congress and TDP as its candidates.

Of the four seats, the TRS supposed to win two seats are said to be reserved for Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari and R&B Minister T Nageswara Rao. Srihari, the sitting Warangal MP, who replaced former Dy.CM Dr. T Rajaiah must be given the MLC ticket if the party leadership wants him to hold the office. The same is the case with Nageshwara Rao.
