The Chief Minister’s office released a statement that the Union Power Minister assured his support who also congratulated the TRS government for supplying electricity without any power cuts in its very first year in office and praised the state’s plans for the next year to generate 2,500 MW of solar power.


KCR informed the Union Power Minister that an agreement has been made with Chhattisgarh to buy 1,000 MW and another 1,000 MW would be bought soon. Hence, the Chief Minister made a request to the Central Government to ensure the transmission corridor completion to receive electricity from the north grid.


KCR also briefed Mr Goyal that plants with a capacity of 6,000 MW are being set up by the Telangana Generation Corporation and NTPC with capacity of 4,000 MW; allocation of 29.70 million metric tonnes of coal was needed for these projects, stated the Chief Minister.
