Hyderabad: A two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosle and Justice S V Bhatt on Friday ordered notices to various auto dealers in the Telangana State and the State government. The bench was dealing with a writ petition filed by Nagole Auto Drivers Welfare Association.

The petitioner association alleged that various RTA agents under the GHMC were issuing fake auto-rickshaw registrations colluding with certain dealers. Surya Satish, counsel for the petitioners complained that certain auto dealers had challenged an earlier order of the State government to register autos in the names of valid licence-holders, that resulted in sale of autos to benamis and in some cases, more than one auto with the same registration number.
