Congress calls for AP CM’s resignation. Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Monday urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to resign from his post to facilitate a free and fair probe into the \'Cash for Vote\' case.

Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Monday urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to resign from his post to facilitate a free and fair probe into the 'Cash for Vote' case.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday, Shabbir Ali said Naidu had walked into the trap while indulging in the game of horse-trading. He recalled that he had resorted to the same game in 1995 and dethroned late N T Rama Rao.

He ushered in the politics of luring MLAs by offering money. Ironically, his previous partner-in-the-game, K Chandrashekar Rao, had now turned a rival and had him trapped. "If Naidu still believes in some ethics and morals, he should resign from his post and face the probe," he demanded.

Shabbir Ali also advised Naidu to make late NTR's son Balakrishna the next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh so as to undo the injustice which he had done to late NTR through the politics of horse-trading of MLAs. With this, NTR’s soul would rest in peace. He said Naidu should support the Anti-Corruption Bureau in conducting a fair investigation.

The Congress leader alleged that TDP leaders were giving contradictory statements on Naidu's audio tape containing his conversation with the nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson. While State government Advisor Parakala Prabhakar alleged that Naidu tape was cooked up, Errabelli Dayakar Rao tried to defend Naidu saying what was wrong in seeking vote.

Shabbir Ali said it was now irrelevant to go into the details of who leaked those videos to the media. "Whatever has been shown by the media has clearly proved that TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy tried to bribe nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson using money and the entire proceedings took place at the instance of Naidu," he said.

When asked whether he was supporting Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on the issue, Shabbir Ali clarified that he was only supporting the investigation being done by the ACB into 'Cash for Vote' case. "Naidu and KCR are like 'Guru-Shishya' (Teacher - Student).
