Hyderabad: With the government job notification round the corner, the number of candidates registering with the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has increased considerably. As many as 73,305 candidates registered with the commission through the one time registration introduced by TSPSC.

As the number of engineering graduates is more than that of concerned jobs available in the market, engineering graduates have now shifted their eyes to the government jobs. As per the data, 28,167 engineering graduates from various streams registered with the commission so far. Of the total, 11,428 graduates of Electronic and Communications enrolled with the commission.

The excitement of cracking government jobs is more among men than women. While as many as 52,956 men registered, the number of women enrolled stands at 20,292. Going by district-wise enrollment, Warangal district recorded the highest number of registrations i.e. 10,165 candidates followed by Hyderabad 9103 and Karimnagar 8871. And about 7,009 candidates from other States too enrolled.

A senior official of TSPSC said the commission was making all preparations to release notification for filling assistant executive engineer posts and assistant engineer by the end of this month. Interestingly, 57 candidates of third gender from across the State registered and 16 from are Hyderabad alone. Last year, Supreme Court recognised transgender as third gender.

Earlier, they were made to write as male or female but not as third gender. The commission has also included third gender in the onetime registration form apart from male and female gender category. In April, the TSPSC has launched one-time registration for the candidates seeking government jobs. The one-time registration was designed in way that the website automatically sends job notification alerts to the eligible candidates by scanning the data available with the commission.
