Hyderabad: Telangana Municipal Employees and Workers United Union has intensified their agitation demanding the State government to solve their long pending demands. They said they had decided to go on strike from June 25 as the government failed to respond to their agitation at mandal levels.

The municipal employees and workers are demanding the government to increase their salaries and provide health cards and ESI and PF to them. CITU leader Venkatesh alleged that the government failed to respond to the agitation taken up by the employees and workers for some time.

He questioned the TRS government, which increased the salaries of government and RTC employees, but why it was not responding to pay hike demand of municipal employees and workers. He said that CITU, FTU, BMS, HMS, IFTU, AITUC and TSTU unions have already served strike notices to the government on June 8, but there was no response from the government.

He said the unions will take up zone level dharnas from June 16 to June 25. Dharnas will be staged from June 23 in all the municipalities, he said and made it clear that they will go on strike from June 25 in case the government fails to respond on their issue.
