Hyderabad: Disapproving the ‘tone and tenor’ of Andhra Pradesh Ministers over the ‘cash-for-vote’ scam, Telangana Ministers T Harish Rao and P Mahender Reddy at separate press conferences said that the AP Ministers should show restraint in the kind of language they were using.

They should know that whatever AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu might do, he could not evade going to jail once charges were framed against him. Like how YS Jaganmohan Reddy went to jail after charges were framed against him, Naidu too would be going to jail in the near future, they said.

Harish felt that AP Ministers were making a hue and cry only to escape from the noose of cash-for-vote scam. He said there was no need for imposition of Section 8 of Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act in Hyderabad. Not only Hyderabad, entire Telangana State had been peaceful for the last one year, he stressed.

Harish was very critical of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders continuing with phone tapping allegations despite Telangana ACB clearly denying it. Naidu should clarify whether or not he spoke to Elvis Stephenson, Harish said. He should explain if Rs 50 lakh cash seized from accused MLA Revanth Reddy belonged to him or not, he added.

Commenting on AP the Ministers statement that their government would set up separate police stations in Hyderabad, the Irrigation Minister stated that everything would be done according to law. Whatever practices were being followed in others States would be implemented even here, Harish said.

Meanwhile, P Mahender Reddy said that Centre too had decided not to interfere after getting to know about Naidu’s involvement in the case. Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu himself said that both States should sort out the matter and Centre had no role in it, he pointed out.
