Hyderabad: The State Minorities Commission asked Telangana government to declare a two-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr. “State Minorities Commission received representations from various employees, organisations and also from individuals and parents requesting the Commission to represent to the Government of Telangana for declaring Friday (July 17) and and Saturday (July 18) as government holidays for all institutions, organizations and schools in view of `Jummaat-ul-vida’ & `Eid-ul-Fitr’,” the Commission said on Thurday.


State Minorities Commission Chairman Abid Rasool Khan has personally represented to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao conveying the sentiments and feelings of the people and requesting him for the same. He also reminded the Chief Minister that earlier he had declared that “Eid” would be two-day holiday to facilitate the people to travel and celebrate the same with their families.
