With the holy event of Godavari Pushkaralu creating a major impact on the people from both the states - AP and Telangana, hundreds of vehicles were stranded on the 30 km Dharmapuri-Jagityal road in Karimnagar due to a massive traffic jam. As the weekend has approached, people are rushing towards the Pushkara Ghats affecting traffic in many major places in Hyderabad leaving the pilgrims stranded for a long stretch of duration.

Even after the police and transport officials intervening into the matter, the traffic was not to be controlled. Eventually, the police diverted the vehicles through other routes. Even Kothagudem witnessed a 10 km traffic jam with officials stopping vehicles moving towards Bhadrachalam.

Traffic came to a standstill in several other places including Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medak and Nalgonda due to the movement of the pilgrims. Police dispatched teams from Hyderabad to all the districts in order top clear the traffic while Ministers are monitoring the situation.

With the traffic causing a major hindrance for the people on the weekend, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed the officials to come up with alternative measures and regulate the traffic.
