TRS government intends to go choose the Parade Grounds for Independence Day celebrations this year making Golconda Fort seem to be a temporary venue. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao celebrated the state’s first Independence Day at the historic fort instead of the customary Parade Grounds in Secunderabad surprising everyone.

Officials from the General Administration Department who had to make arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations sought clarity over the venue. According to the sources, KCR doesn’t have plans to celebrate the occasion in Golconda Fort and has directed the officials to make arrangements at the Parade Grounds.

Official sources in GAD had suggested many vacant lands in HCU and Warangal Fort for the I-Day celebrations this year but the Chief Minister was not impressed.

Instead of seeking the Centre’s approvals every year for the Parade Grounds, KCR himself had looked at various locations in the city and its outskirts for the TS government’s own Parade Grounds for Independence Day, Republic Day and TS Formation Day celebrations.
