Hyderabad: Telangana TDP on Friday demanded the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to resign owing moral responsibility for the illegal phone tapping of his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu and other opposition leaders.

Addressing the press here, TDP Telangana unit working President E Dayakar Rao stated that the KCR government admitted the tapping of the phones of opposition leaders in High Court during the hearing of the case on Thursday.

It proved that the statements made by KCR and Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy were false who said that the government had nothing to do when the phone tapping issue came to light.

Alleging the Chief Minister for intimidating many Opposition leaders through phone tapping for his political gains in the recent MLC election, the TDP leader said KCR should be ashamed of himself for bringing bad reputation to the State, particularly Hyderabad, which is a big destination for investments in the country.

In protest against the delay in funds release for the Indiramma housing scheme, Dayakar Rao informed that he would stage a massive dharna in Warangal town on August 5.

KCR failed to complete the pending housing works over the last one year, he alleged. He wondered how the TRS government would construct double bed room houses for the poor without budget allocations this year.
