Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday demanded the Telangana State government to officially celebrate the Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17. Speaking to the media here, BJP Telangana unit president G Kishan Reddy said during the Telangana movement both TRS and Congress had promised to celebrate the occasion officially. Since TRS had come to power, the government should celebrate the 'Hyderabad Liberation Day' as an official function.
He said that the BJP would continue to pressurise the State government on this issue. Kishan Reddy alleged that the TRS was hesitating to organise official celebration due to its alliance with the MIM. He said he would produce the video and newspaper clippings of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao himself making the demand for the official celebration of Liberation Day.
