TRS cold-shouldering the issue due to its alliance with MIM, alleges Kishan Reddy
Hyderabad: Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy strongly condemned the silence adopted by the TRS leaders over the demand for the official celebration of Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17. He alleged that TRS was maintaining silence over the issue due to its alliance with the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) party.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Kishan Reddy said that BJP would celebrate the occasion from the village to State level. Also, he said, dharnas would be organised at all district collectorates in protest against non-celebration of the event at the official level. The BJP Mahila Morcha workers would present ‘Rakhis’ to TRS Ministers, MPs, MLAs and other leaders for their silence on the issue.
Kishan Reddy pointed out the Hyderabad Liberation Day was being celebrated officially in some districts of Karnataka and Maharashtra, which were part of erstwhile Hyderabad State. “But it is unfortunate that the event is not being celebrated in Hyderabad city which was also the capital of erstwhile State,” he said.
