Speaking to media persons at BJP State office here, BJP senior leader Baddam Bal Reddy alleged that out of Rs 100 crore released, Rs 45 crores were swindled by the Water Board.

Bal Reddy said the State government had failed to suspend the corrupt officials even after a month. He demanded that the government suspend the corrupted officials. The BJP senior leader said both the Centre and the State governments had been releasing about Rs 300 crore to Rs 500 crore every year for Krishna river water project but there0 was no accountability, he said.

He stated that even after eight years into Krishna river water project, it was not yet completed. Bal Reddy regretted that though Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had promised daily water supply to all areas in the City within one year, it remained a daydream.

"While the city requires water to the tune of 500 million gallons per day (MGD), only 305 MGD is being supplied from various sources,” Bal Reddy said. The BJP senior leader demanded that the government complete the works of Krishna river water project phase III and also expedite the works of Govdavari phase I.
