Hyderabad: Minister for Irrigation T Harish Rao on Saturday reviewed the arrangements for immersion of Ganesh idols in Hussainsagar.

Speaking to media persons at NTR Marg here, Harish Rao said the State government had sanctioned Rs 4.7 crore for the Ganesh festival celebrations.

He said as many as 23 big cranes would be deployed at Tank Bund and 10 large cranes at NTR Marg. Apart from it, arrangements were made at 21 other lakes for immersion of Ganesh idols. As many as 21 moving cranes would also be deployed to meet any emergency, he said.

Harish Rao said fool-proof security measures were taken and CC cameras were installed on the Ganesh procession route from Balapur to Tank Bund. As many as 48 CC cameras were erected around Hussainsagar.

He said that the Mission Kakatiya had yielded good results with many lakes having good water and they would be used for immersion of Ganesh idols.
