Hyderabad: The final design for development of the abode of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple of Yadagirigutta, renamed as Yadadri by the Telangana government, has taken a final shape.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday approved the new design and layout of the temple town.During the meeting,

the Chief Minister instructed the officials of the Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority (YTDA) to begin work on October 22, on the auspicious occasion of Dasara festival. Under the new plan,

the existing buildings on the hillock will be demolished and new ones will be constructed. Two hills abutting the main hillock on east side will be developed in an extent of 1000 acres of land and would be promoted as ‘Temple City’.

A VIP guest house in 30 acres of land on the north side of the main hill, laying of wide roads, construction of cottages, growing aromatic plants, advanced sound system to render holy songs and new electricity lines, drainage system and water pipelines will be taken up under the new plan.

It is also proposed to establish new bus station on temple hillock, which has an extent of 1.9 acres of land. This will help the pilgrims alight at the nearest point to the sanctum sanctorum.

Two separate roads to ply pilgrim vehicles and another road for VIP vehicles are being planned besides ‘mada veedhulu’ around the temple.

A 108-feet Hanuman statue on east side of the main temple would be erected. Annadanam complex on temple site, separate place for Brahmotsavams, queue complex at Sri Chakra Bhavanam,

shopping complex to make available all puja materials and increase the size of the waterbody are among the important developmental works to be taken up to promote the temple town in a big way.

Instructing the officials to complete the works by next Dasara, the Chief Minister said that Rs 100 crore was already allocated for the development of Yadagirigutta. If required, the government will release additional funds, he said.

The YTDA will get all permissions required for the constructions and other facilities from the departments concerned.
