Congress to announce candidate for Warangal LS seat today

• Party to implement One Man, One Post policy
• Leaders like Shabbir Ali will have to give up the TPCC post

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee will soon have a new team of office-bearers. In an informal chat with media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday, TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the new office-bearers would be announced soon. He said there would one Vice-President and General Secretaries from each of the 10 districts of Telangana. However, he refused to divulge more details on when the new team would be announced.

According to sources, the Congress party would implement the 'One Man, One Post' policy and those holding posts in Congress Legislature Party would be relinquished from the party posts. They include leaders like Mohammed Ali Shabbir, who is holding two posts of Leader of Opposition in Council and TPCC Vice-President. Uttam might also appoint new spokesperson.

Asked about the party prospects in Warangal Lok Sabha elections, Uttam claimed that the Congress party would win the by-elections for Warangal Lok Sabha seat by a margin of over one lakh votes. He said that the Congress party had hired an agency to study the mood of voters in Warangal Lok Sabha seat. He said based on a sample of 1,000 voters in each of the seven Assembly segments in Warangal Lok Sabha seat, he said.

The agency has predicted victory for Congress candidate by a margin of more than one lakh votes. He said that the Rythu Bharosa Yatra had a very positive impact on the farming community and people were upset over the suspension of entire Opposition from the last Assembly session. He said the Congress would announce its candidate on Saturday.
