Hyderabad: Hrudaya Foundation helped a 3-day old girl child from Sholapur, Maharashtra, with major heart defect to undergo surgery in a city hospital.

After baby’s uncle mailed the Foundation, the trust responded to his mail and asked them to bring the child to Hyderabad for complete evaluation. Father of the child Mohan Atul Navgan works in a general store and mother Suvarna is a housewife. They brought the child to Hrudaya Foundation,

Hyderabad, from where the child was sent to STAR Hospitals and got the child tested. The pediatric cardiologists identified that the child was having D-Transposition of great arteries and needed open heart surgery called Arterial Switch Operation with VSD Surgical Closure, cost of which is nearly Rs 3 lakh to 4 lakhs.

Trustees discussed the case with doctors and decided to go ahead and processed for treatment. The child was operated on October 2 at STAR Hospitals, surgery was successful. She was released after a week of surgery on October 8.
