Efforts on to make Krishna fete a grand success

Hyderabad: Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy here on Thursday directed the officials concerned to prepare proposals by the end of this month on the arrangements to be made for the pilgrims turning up for the Krishna Pushkarams to be held in August next year.
The Minister held a review meeting on the subject in the Secretariat with the people’s representatives from Mahbubnagar district. He asked the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the Krishna Pushkarams as directed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao like the previous Godavari Pushkarams. Apart from the existing 18 Pushkar Ghats in the district, the Minister asked the officials to finalise proposals to construct 36 new ghats and development of Pushkar Ghat roads and temples.
Stating that the Endowments Department would act as a nodal agency, the Minister asked the officials of R&B, Rural Water Supply and other departments concerned to forward proposals by the end of this month so that he could take approval of the Chief Minister for taking up the required works like construction of ghats, widening of roads, identification of parking places, construction of toilets and water supply. Advisor to the government on Cultural Affairs Dr K V Ramanachari also spoke. He also urged all departments concerned to take the first-ever Krishna Pushkarams in Telangana State as a prestigious issue and help make it a grand success.
Industries Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Planning Board vice-chairman Narendar Reddy, Government Whip Gongidi Sunitha, MLC Ramchander Rao, MLAs Chenna Reddy, S Balaraju, Rammohan Reddy, Principal Secretary of Irrigation S K Joshi, Principal Secretary for Transport and Highways Sunil Sharma, Finance Secretary Sivashankar, Additional DG (Law & Order) Sudip Laktakia, Mahbubnagar district Collector T K Sridevi, SP Eshwar Prasad, Nalgonda SP Vikram Singh Duggal and several others were present.
