Hyderabad: Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao is embarking on a tour to New Delhi to meet Union Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj to discuss the woes of Telugu people working in Gulf countries . He is scheduled to meet the minister on Friday along with five Gulf victims.
Rama Rao is expected to elicit the travails of Telangana natives in Gulf countries where agents promise good jobs and pay to the workers but cheat them later.
“The employers forcefully grab the passports and make the personnel work under uneasy conditions. Even if workers want to leave the job, employers do not release the passports.
As a result the health of workers gets affected,” explained a member fighting for the rights of such workers.
