Warangal LS bypoll

TRS allotted one leader for every 100 voters and entrusted to them the job of bringing voters to the polling booth

Hyderabad: Though Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is confident of winning Warangal LS bypoll, it is worried that the voting percentage might come down this time, which in turn might result in the party candidate getting lesser majority as compared to what Kadiyam Srihari had got in the last election.

Kadiyam had won the seat with nearly 3.87 lakh majority. According to a TRS leader, the public has been questioning them about not getting Minimum Support Price for cotton during poll campaigns. A review meeting conducted on the election campaign recently found that the party cadre was also not working with full enthusiasm.

To counter the impact of possible low turnout, TRS allotted one leader for every 100 voters and entrusted the job of bringing them to the polling booth. Meanwhile, TRS politburo member and MLC Karne Prabhakar criticised the comments made by Congress party leaders Meira Kumar and Digvijay Singh at an election campaign in Warangal.

Speaking to the media at TRS Legislative Party Office here on Monday, Prabhakar said the Congress party leaders were like fake gold which does not have any demand. The elections in Warangal were between the people who support development and those who oppose it, he said.
