Warangal: People in Warangal played a crucial role whenever there was crisis and they should do the same now by supporting the TRS in Warangal parliament byeelection, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said.

Addressing a massive public meeting at the packed KU Arts and Science College grounds in Hanamkonda on Tuesday, he hit out at the Opposition parties in his typical style and wanted the voters to teach a fitting lesson to those who were criticising the TRS.

The Congress and the TDP governments which ruled for 60 long years had damaged Telangana in all aspects, he said, adding that it was impossible for the TRS to clean up the mess in just 16 months. “Those gathered here and watching me on TVs should pay attention to the facts,” he said.

“Please don’t get confused as the Opposition parties are engaged in mudslinging, trust TRS and trust me,” he told the public while appealing them to vote for the party nominee Pasunuri Dayakar.

The BJP suffered drubbing in Delhi and Bihar polls as it did nothing good to the people, he noted. “Do they think that we got the magic lantern?” Chandrashekar Rao asked adding everything could not be done in just 16 months. Yet, the TRS government was committed to achieve ‘Golden Telangana’ as it had succeeded in achieving a separate Telangana though none believed it could be possible when the TRS was formed, he said.

The government was striving to fulfil the aspirations of people in the State, the Chief Minister said while listing out the development initiatives of his government. He promised to extend Kalyana Lakshmi scheme to all the ration cards holders from next year. He reiterated that after March, nine-hour power to agriculture needs would be supplied during day time and after 2018 there would be no power cuts, he said.

Now Rs 4000 crore was being spent for 6,000 double-bedroom houses for the poor. From next year onwards, about 1,000 to 2,000 houses in each Assembly segment would be built every year, he said.
