Speaking on the occasion, Faizal said that as the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi played a major role in strengthening the Indian democratic structure and tradition. She launched the 20-point programme to eradicate poverty and to improve the quality of the living of poor people and under-privileged population of the country. She strived hard for the welfare of the weaker sections along with uplifting the minorities. Enormous development took place in the country and in the State during the tenure of Congress government.

Later, minority cell leaders distributed food packets to aged and disabled persons near Saibaba temple at Mammillagudem on the occasion.

District party leaders Thota Satyam, Habeeb, Zaheer, Vinod Kumar, Ramu, Naganti Chandra Shekar, Youth Congress leaders Sirish, Naga, Subhani, Nagulmeer, Ibrahim, Saddam, Jaffar, Shafi and Imran were present along with others.
