Hyderabad: Former MLA from Mahbubnagar Yennam Srinivas Reddy on Monday resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He submitted his resignation to State party chief G Kishan Reddy. Yennam said BJP and Congress parties could not become alternatives to the ruling TRS in the Telangana State.

Yennam, who was away from the BJP activities for past some time, said he would soon announce his future plan of action. Yennam, who had unsuccessfully contested the 2014 elections, criticised the ruling party saying there was no change in the 18-month-old TRS regime in the State.

Taking a jibe at the ruling party, he alleged that corporate organisations were ruling the State. “We will form a political platform next year to take on the anti-people policies of the ruling party. The TRS government has belied the hopes of the people,” he said.
