Hyderabad: Wit the experience gained in successfully conducting Godavari Pushkaralu, the Telangana State government is now focussing attention on Krishna pushkaralu which are to begin in August, 2016. The TRS MPs are likely to take the Centre to task during the upcoming Parliament session on the issue of bias in granting funds to Telangana State for Godavari Pushkaralu.
A review meeting for preparations on Pushkaralu in Nalgonda district was held on Monday by Minister for Endowment and Law A Indrakaran Reddy. Minister for Power Jagadish Reddy was also present at the meeting.
The officials brought to the notice of the Ministers that there was a need to increase the number of bathing ghats in Nalgonda to 34 from the present16 ghats constructed during earlier occasion.
The officials would be coming up with Detailed Project Report (DPR) by the end of December. The Ministers said they would present the report to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for sanctioning of funds.
Later speaking to media persons, Indrakaran Reddy explained that the Telangana State government was considering the event prestigious. He said tenders would be called for construction of ghats. It is estimated that not less than one crore pilgrims will take part in the festivities during Pushkaralu.
