TRS MLA threatens MPTC’s husband
Even before the people have forgotten the ‘cash-for-vote’ episode in which Telugu Desam leader A Revanth Reddy was allegedly ‘caught’ in an attempt to offer Rs 50 lakh as part of a Rs 5 crore deal to the nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to make him vote for the TDP MLC contestant, yet another such issue came to fore on Sunday involving Wyra MLA B Madana Lal, who won on the YSR Congress ticket and joined the ruling TRS later.
Khammam: Even before the people have forgotten the ‘cash-for-vote’ episode in which Telugu Desam leader A Revanth Reddy was allegedly ‘caught’ in an attempt to offer Rs 50 lakh as part of a Rs 5 crore deal to the nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to make him vote for the TDP MLC contestant, yet another such issue came to fore on Sunday involving Wyra MLA B Madana Lal, who won on the YSR Congress ticket and joined the ruling TRS later.
With elections for the Legislative Council from Local Bodies Constituencies due in a few days, Madan Lal reportedly threatened Konijerla MPTC of CPI Nagalakshmi’s husband Satyanarayana when the latter failed to meet him. The mobile phone recording of Satyanarayana clearly indicates that he was contacted by a person, believed to be Madan Lal and asked him to meet him besides enquiring whether Nagalakshmi was also ready.
Madan Lal called Satyanarayana a few times and told him to meet him along with his wife (MPTC). The MLA assured Satyanarayana not to fear or not to have any doubts to meet him. He also assured him of relieving from problems, if he had any. “Money matter or any security, whatever you want, I will provide,” assured. While replying another call, Satyanarayana said that he was suffering from fever and admitted to a hospital in Wyra. To which, Madan Lal said whether he had to meet him in hospital.
In another call, Madan Lal expressed his anguish over Satyanarayana for not meeting him. “Do you think me as an MLA or your brother-in-law to make me wait for your audience? Even though, I didn’t force you, you are trying to play with me? Every dog has its day, don’t forget about it. Neither, I am going to become Indian President with your vote nor I am going to be affected with it. You would have told me if you have any obligations.”
“I already told you that we have to go to Hyderabad as there was a programme with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Now, you say that you will come later. What is the use?” Madan Lal said. Playing down the incident, Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao said: “We never stooped to such a level. We invite those leaders who come wholeheartedly. All those allegations are worthless.”
According to sources, Madan Lal was to meet the CM with a host of ZPTC and MPTC members poached from other parties on Sunday. Speaking to The Hans India, Madan Lal said: “I did not lure the MPTC. The MPTC’s husband called me and asked to meet me. So I waited for him. When he didn’t turn up, I questioned him as to why he had wasted my time.” Satyanarayana dared Madan Lal to contest as MPTC against his wife rather than threatening him to join the TRS.
