With Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao planning to perform the Maha Ayuta Chandi Yagam for five days from December 23 to 27, the arrangements have been going on in full swing as the Chief Minister reportedly visited the place and instructed the officials to make necessary arrangements.

Over 100 homa gundas have been prepared for the Yagam in 12 acres of land at KCR's farm house at Erravelli village in Medak district. Over 1500 priests and qualified Vedic pandits will be performing this yagam while even the public will be allowed to grace the ceremony.

KCR who performed Chandi Yagam twice has decided to perform the Yagam this time to fulfill his vow to perform the same on the formation of Telangana. Also, it is meant for seeking blessings for the well-being of people of the state. It may be mentioned here that KCR had performed similar Yagas seeking separate statehood for Telangana in 2011 and 2012.
