Kanchi seers to perform yagam
The five-day long yagam will be performed by a team of six seers of Sringeri Sharada Peetham as per its traditions. KCR said the yagam is being conducted as he achieved the goal of statehood for Telangana with the blessings of goddess Chandi Matha.

During Chandi Yagam in Sringeri in 2011, he prayed the goddess Chandi, vowed to perform the yagam if Telangana gets statehood. All the people are welcome for the yagam which is aimed at achieving peace, prosperity and welfare of the people he said.He said that 1500 Rithviks from various states will perform the Chandi Yagam by chanting mantras in unison besides many priests, seers.

N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Ministers including M Venkaiah Naidu, ministers, political leaders, businessmen and industrialists will attend the yagam. Facility is being provided to park about 20,000 vehicles. Vermillion, turmeric and Chandi prasadam will be distributed on the occasion and women can do participate in ritual Archana on the premises.
