A two-judge Bench of High Court at Hyderabad comprising Justice Nooty Ramamohan Rao and Justice Anis, on Wednesday, set aside an order of Preventive Detention passed against Yellam, an alleged bootlegger of the city.

Hyderabad: A two-judge Bench of High Court at Hyderabad comprising Justice Nooty Ramamohan Rao and Justice Anis, on Wednesday, set aside an order of Preventive Detention passed against Yellam, an alleged bootlegger of the city.

The Bench allowed writ plea filed on behalf of bootlegger on the ground that the detention order was violated for non-application of mind. Amongst the grounds raised it was specifically contented by Challa Dhananjay that the order of detention was made on September 9, 2015 even though the petitioner was arrested in connection with the crime and was in judicial custody from September 6, 2015.
