South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Ravindra Gupta said that the SCR should complete the works between Nizamabad and Armoor under the Peddapalli-Karimnagar-Nizamabad section by December next year.
Nizamabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Ravindra Gupta said that the SCR should complete the works between Nizamabad and Armoor under the Peddapalli-Karimnagar-Nizamabad section by December next year.
Disclosing this to the media here on Wednesday, Gupta said that full-fledged trains would be introduced between the Nizamabad-Karimnagar-Peddapalli section. He said that if this section was completed, it would be very useful to the people of North Telangana, who have relatives living in Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Adilabad, Warangal districts.
After inspecting the Nanded- Dharmabad, Basar, Nizamabad and Kamareddy Railway Stations in the Nanded-Secunderabad section. the SCR General Manager said that their team was conducting casual inspections of stations, which were usually conducted after every three years, He said that they also examined the conditions prevailing in various railway stations, railway tracks, level crossings, pending works and took into consideration the demands and suggestions made by the local people. They received memorandum from the locals, he added.
The team of officials also inspected the various railway stations between the Mudhked-Nanded-Hyderabad Section, The General Manager was accompanied by Divisional .Railway Manager Aruna Singh and several higher level railway officials.
General Manager Gupta also inspected the Nizamabad Railway Station and inaugurated a new ticket counter, which is useful to the other side of the people, who were living behind of the station. He inspected the ticket counters, Foot- over-Bridges, railway tracks and the signaling system of the station.
Ravindra Gupta said the SCR sent proposals for taking up of electrification works in between Manmad-Mudhked section to the Union Ministry of Railways. After sanctioning of funds, the SCR would start the works immediately, he added. He said, a multifunctional complex, comprising shops and hotels in the front side of the station would be constructed in the premises of the Nizamabad railway station as it would be very useful to the people, especially the railway passengers. On the occasion, the Railway Consultative Committee Members and Chamber of Commerce Member gave representations to the SCR General Manager on various pending projects of this region.
The Zonal Railway User’s Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) Member G. Manohar Reddy demanded the introduction of a few more trains between various destinations in this region. He said that a new train between Basar to Secunderabad, Nampalli the ‘Saraswathi Express’ at 6 AM and vice versa back in the evening at 6 pm from Nampally to Basar; another train by-weekly train from Nizamabad to New Delhi should be introduced.
He urged the SCR General Manager to develop the Basar Railway Station on the lines of Tirupati, Varanasi, Shirdi, Madhurai and Rameshwaram railway stations.
Reddy urged the General Manager to complete the survey and project works of Armoor-Nirmal-Adilabad lines and Bodha-Banswada-Bidar lines soon. He also said that in Maharashtra Prabhani-Mukhed doubling works was going on, but Mudkhed-Nizamabad-Secunderabad has not begun yet and urged the SCR officials to start these works immediately.
