Civil supplies dept contract to firm suspended

Justice M S Ramachander Rao of the High Court at Hyderabad on Tuesday suspended the order of the Telangana Civil Supplies Department awarding a contract for supply of essential commodities in favour of one Nagendra Transport Company.

The judge made the interim order in a writ petition filed by Lakshmi Transport, complaining that the person to whom the contract was awarded did not satisfy the tender condition. The tender condition required the firm to have at least two years experience.

It was noticed that just a few days before the tender was awarded, the partnership had dissolved by the death of the one of the two existing partners and therefore it did not satisfy the prescribed terms.
