District Police Sports Meet begins
A three-day Visakhapatnam District Police Games and Sports Meet began here at Kailasagiri Police Grounds here on Wednesday.
Visakhapatnam: A three-day Visakhapatnam District Police Games and Sports Meet began here at Kailasagiri Police Grounds here on Wednesday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) K Satyanarayana, who inaugurated the meet, said that sports meets provide a good platform for police personnel to prove their hidden talents.
In all, 150 persons from Armed Reserve, ministerial department and police from the sub-divisions of Anakapalli, Narsipatnam, Paderu and Chintapalli took part in the sports meet.
Later, Satyanarayana gave away prizes to the winners of 800 metres run-K Ramachander (gold medal), D Srinu (silver), M Somasekhar (bronze). DSPs A V Subba Raju, YV Ramana, S Bhushanam Naidu, PVK Varma, R Srinivas, DSRVSN Moorthy, L Mohan Rao, Reserve Inspectors I Mohan Kumar, P Nageswara Rao and others were present.
