Nizamabad: As part of the state-wide agitation, Animal Husbandry Department Assistants, the Gopala Mitras continued their 12-day agitation at the dharna chowk in the town and they expressed their protest in a novel way by doing Bhajans and demanded the government to assure them of stable jobs Speaking to the media, the Gopala Mitras said that they have been working for the last 20 years in the Animal Husbandry Department, but they were earning a meagre amount of only Rs 3,500 per month.

Gangadhar, Association leaders demanded the Telangana government to recognize them as government employees and provide them jobs with a minimum salary of Rs 16,500 according to the Minimum Wages Act. He said that only 101 Gopala Mitra employees were in Nizamabad district and the government should promote the eligible Gopala Mitras as Veterinary Assistants. Gangadhar said that they were continuing their agitation for the past 12 days, and urged the government to solve their problems as early as possible.
