Hyderabad: Marketing and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday expressed displeasure at the officials for failing to find places for constructing godowns in Mahbubnagar. At a review meeting here, while appreciating the Nalgonda district officials for speedy works of the godown, he pulled up officials of Mahbubnagar and directed them to find suitable place in two weeks, else allotted godowns would be shifted to other places, he said.

He directed completion of the first phase of 100 godowns by March 31 and the second phase of 230 godowns by June end and asked the officials to take necessary steps to find suitable place. Serious measures would be taken if quality was not maintained, besides transparency of the works, Harish cautioned.

Harish asked the officials to contact Union Solar Power Grid Corporation to set up solar panels on godowns being constructed in the State. He also asked them to conduct a study tour to other States to study how cold storages to be constructed.

The officials have to prepare detailed project reports for two more cold storages in addition to those reports prepared for three cold storages in Bowenpally, Gudimalkapur and Vantimamidi, he said. The Minister said the government would soon bring an onion policy after finalising the draft. He asked the officials to collect marketing fees from market yards and use latest equipment for improved services in all districts.
