Sports turns fatal for 8th class student
An eighth class student, Gummadi Vijay Kumar, 13, died while participating in sports competitions held at his school in view of the ensuing Republic Day celebrations in Narsampet division.
Narsampet (Warangal): An eighth class student, Gummadi Vijay Kumar, 13, died while participating in sports competitions held at his school in view of the ensuing Republic Day celebrations in Narsampet division.
The incident occurred during morning hours of Saturday at the government school at Bathupalli village of Kothaguda mandal in the district.
According to the sources, sports competitions were being held at the school marking the Republic Day.
The School Principal, Sulochana said the boy collapsed while playing Kho Kho. Following which the teachers rushed him to the local hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. The boy was said have died due to breathing congestion.
A pall of gloom descended at Karlai village in the mandal, the boy’s native village.
