B Tech student slaps traffic cop for doing his duty, arrested

A 19-year-old B Tech student T Harshita was arrested by the Keesara police on Tuesday for attacking a traffic policeman on duty. Inspector P Guruva Reddy said that based on the complaint of the traffic cop who was attacked, a case has been registered against her and she has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

Cops informed that Harshita was driving her bike on the wrong side and attacked the traffic cop, P Venkatesh Yadav after he clicked photos of her bike to issue a fine challan. The girl who is a BTech first-year student at a private engineering college in Ghatkesar had asked the cop to delete the pictures but when he refused, she slapped him on the cheek and even damaged the camera by smashing it on the ground.

Harshita has been charged under Section 353 for assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging his duty and also for damaging public property.
