ABVP has called for a state-wide bandh in Telangana on Saturday to protest against the visit of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi to the Hyderabad Central University over the death of research scholar Rohith Vemula.

Opposing the issue being made into a political debate by Rahul Gandhi in Central University particularly when the University is returning to normalcy, ABVP national executive member Kadiam Raju said in a statement.

He further questioned Rahul Gandhi as to why he did not console the family of Dalit women students who committed suicide in Chennai medical college. The ABVP called for a bandh following Rahul Gandhi's visit to the campus on Friday night and is also said to participate in the hunger strike by the agitating students of HCU on Saturday.

According to the ongoing reports, Rahul Gandhi will be taking part in the hunger strike movement from 6am to 6pm on Saturday.
