Govindaraopet (Warangal): As the Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara was getting close, the Excise officials have intensified raids to curb distilling of illicit liquor ‘gudumba’ to prevent its consumption at the jatara.

A team of officials and personnel conducted raids at Papayapalli village in Govindaraopet village and its surroundings in the district on Monday and Tuesday. They found 1,600 litres of fermented jaggery wash at the village and destroyed it.

Excise officer on Special Duty (OSD) P Srinivasa Rao, Mahabubabad Excise Task Force Circle Inspector MPR Chandrashekar, Inspectors Indra Prasad, Durga Bhavai and M Prashanti, Sub-Inspectors Saritha and Mann Singh took part in the raids.
