Avoid water crisis in summer: Collector
The field-level officers should be alert and avoid drinking water problem in the district in coming summer, District Collector P Satyanarayana Reddy insisted. The Collector conducted a video conference with MROs, MPDOS, RWS and Panchayat Raj officials on Wednesday and reviewed the situation of drinking water supply in the district.

Interacting with the officials through video conference, Satyanarayana Reddy directed them to identify the defunct borewells and drinking water resources and to take up repair works, if needed. Stating that villages, where drinking water problem was severe, were already identified, he urged the officials, who were working in these areas, to prepare a daily action plan and be more cautious.
He asked the officials to spend the funds of 14th Finance Commission only to solve the drinking water problem. The Collector appealed Sarpanches and representatives of local bodies to take part in the measures, which would be taken up to avoid drinking water problem in the troubled period of next four or five months.
The officials were cautioned that negligence by any official in this matter would not be tolerated. Additional JC S Venkata Rao, ZP Chief Executive Officer Mahender Reddy, DWMA Project Director Damodar Reddy, SC Corporation ED Sridhar and RWS SE Ramana were also attended.
